NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is further expanding its extensive range of decentralized drive electronics. The NORDAC ON was specially developed for the special requirements of horizontal conveyor technology in the warehouse area and for interaction with the new IE5+ synchronous motor and is characterized by an integrated Ethernet interface, full pluggability and an extremely compact design. An economical plug-and-play solution for IIoT environments.

The NORDAC ON is a compact, smart converter for decentralized use. It is mounted directly on the drive housing and covers smaller power ranges down to 1.0 kW. Two variants are planned, each with three sizes: while the NORDAC ON was designed for operation with asynchronous motors, the NORDAC ON+ is intended for use in combination with synchronous motors and complements NORD’s high-efficiency portfolio with the new IE5+ motor generation. Both converter variants have an integrated Ethernet interface and are therefore ideally equipped for integration into modern automation systems. Regardless of whether it is ProfiNET, EtherNET IP or EtherCAT – the desired protocol can be easily set using parameters.

High functionality and economy
The new converter was specially tailored to the target applications of horizontal conveyor technology. The standardization covers all industry-specific requirements and guarantees high cost-effectiveness. All connections are pluggable and ensure fast, uncomplicated and error-minimizing commissioning and maintenance on site. The equipment includes a diagnostic interface, four digital inputs and, with the NORDAC ON+, an additional protocol-based encoder interface that is therefore less susceptible to interference. The nsd tupH surface finish, functional safety (STO) and internal braking resistors for dynamic start-stop processes are available as options.
